Heart rate monitors significantly helps improve sport as players can improve their standards of performance. Athletes can use a heart rate monitor to collect the data and work our their target heart rate and fitness levels. Heart rate monitors can also tell you how long it takes for your heart to return to its resting heart rate. Players can use this information to improve their standards and work harder.
Heart rate monitors are used not only in NRL but worldwide in sports such as NFL and rugby union. They're also used for individual training.
Heart rate monitors are used by NRL players at training. They use a small sim which is attached to a device strapped around the front and back of their bodies. At the end of the training session the results are loaded into a computer showing the players speed, distance, acceleration and fitness level.
